HOW TO GET TO OUR APARTMENT IN NEA FOKEA


BY AIRPLANE:

The national airport "Macedonia" of Thessaloniki is connected to the biggest towns in Greece and Europe on a daily basis flights.Taxis and busses take you from the airport to the coach station (KTEL) of Halkidiki in Thessaloniki. There you can take the coach to reach destination of your choice.


BY BUS:

All the villages and the beaches of Halkidiki are connected by coaches to Thessaloniki.There are buses that run daily and several times per day throughout the year.


BY CAR:

Egnatia Motorway (Egnatia Odos) cross Greece from western Italy to easter borders of Turkey. Inetrnational standard of motorway is equipped with devices of safety systems. Egnatia Odos meets Ring Road of Thessaloniki which lead to National Road towards Halkidiki.

It is an underground corridor of about 20km in length, which has been carved on the natural rock and ends in a rectangular underground chamber.

The Cave of Petrálona is one of the most impressive caves in Europe. Finds from the cave show that Halkidiki has been inhabited since Stone Age times. The most important of these is a human skull, that of the “Archanthropos”, which is generally believed to be 700,000 years old –in other words, it is the skull of the oldest European!
